Since my adventure began I have visited thirty states and two countries and each has a claim to fame. Below each welcome sign a moniker boasted a slogan of importance to each region. Welcome to the highest this or the deepest that but there was only one suggesting the mysterious. Welcome to The Land of Enchantment it boasts, Welcome to New Mexico.
I headed to Taos New Mexico with indifference in my spirit. My approach was as uneventful as the barren Moonscape scenery of not mountain yet not desert yet not much of anything I was looking for. Still I was drawn, perhaps like the indigenous, for some unknown feeling of adventure and fulfillment.
The first day was a walk around town type of day getting a handle on the local culture and ambiance of a world class art Mecca known as Taos. But that was not enough. I was here for adventure and so I headed to the outskirts of town to fulfill my ambitions. There I found, unbeknownst to me, a challenge equal to any previous challenge I had experienced. There I found the Grand Gorge of The Rio Grande River.
My descend would take me about two thousand feet down into a canyon in search of the infamous hot springs of the Rio Grande. I parked the van about a half mile from the rim which was all the dirt road would allow. I hiked the additional distance and began climbing in. Gaining confidence towards the bottom of the canyon I reached onto a rock and pulled out what appeared to be a piece of glass. It was a crystal, a rock, a perfectly clear piece of rock. It was as if someone dropped it or perhaps placed it there for me to find. Was it meant for me, was this my destiny?
Upon reaching my next destination I sent the crystal ahead to my brother Nick in South Florida. Nick had it looked at by three jewelers and gemologists and it was unanimously agreed that it was of the highest quality. The gem was now in his hands and with his expertise and imagination I was confident it would be cared for.
It was clear quartz with a hue of rosé, actually almost perfect. Not only was it beautiful but it carries holistic qualities as well. Clear Quartz stands for clarity and has a full light spectrum. It transmits and tranduces energy. It is used spiritually for meditation, energy, and connection with higher realms. It assists in focussing, memory recall, and clarity, clarity as in ones life.
