DESERT FUN

Located in the heart of the Anza-Borrego Desert was Pinyon Mountain Valley. This popular off road playground was filled with every kind of play toy imaginable, from dirt bikes to high speed desert runners. I watched as dune buggies spun their wheels and spit out guisers of sand as they tried to climb 45 degree sand mountains.

I was treated to a day of desert fun by my friend John. We met up with Arnie and Jeff who live in the desert and pass the time away playing with big bot toys. This was their sand box and they knew how to play in it. I had the time of my life climbing high desert with machines built for torture. This was not a cheep pastime. This was an expensive high tech game of man verses machine verses Mother Nature. And, we were not alone. The desert was full of campers toting a variety of weapons to challenge the high desert mountains. Today man won, there were no breakdowns, either mechanical or human.
Left was Arnie (Nam 69), me, and Jeff on the right.
Out and walk for awhile.
