CHACO CANYON THE MESA 'S

The geographic features of Chaco are visually stunning. As you enter the canyon Fajada Butte towers over you as a symbol of the Pueblo culture. Yet hidden amongst the mesa's are the rarely seen outposts of a civilization long gone. John had already climbed the north Mesa and on our last day we decided to climb the south Mesa. Not as high as its counterpart it revealed some great features.

Fajada Butte
We spotted what appeared to be cave dwellings yet they seemed small so we decided to get a closer look and climb up.
Climbing the south Mesa.
The view from the Mesa of the great Kiva.
At 7000 ft elevation I found what I thought was a cave dwelling.  We decided it was to small after all thought it might have been an outpost. Below in the background is the road we came in on. I rested and decided to meditate.
The North Mesa and New Alto, another ruin, in the distance.
Meditation at 7,000 ft, enlightening.
NAMASTE !
