HOH Rain Forest is located on The Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest and is just about as far north and west as you can get in continental US. It has about 160 inches of rain a year and is home to elk, bear, mountain lion, beavers, and 300 species of birds. But, It's specialty is plants. It has over 1500 different kinds of plants including moses, ferns, and mushrooms, crazy mushrooms.
I am in a rain forest and its raining, go figure. I haven't been in a rain forest since 1969 on the Vietnam Cambodian border. It's really weird. The forest is surreal and appears to have a magical quality about it. I hike by myself and I constantly
have the feeling I'm being watched and followed. Hobbits everywhere I just know it.
An opening in the canopy.
